Gajar Ka Halwa

As a little girl, I always helped my mom in the kitchen. Chopping, stiring, moping. Yes, I'm a good helper. My first lesson in my mom's kitchen was to make tea and I mastered it, carrot halwa (dessert) was the next. The tips and tricks, what to do and not to do was so perfectly taught to me. Some day I will pass these lessons on to my daughter. I just couldnt stop myself from making it for my daughter and husband today.

Here is how I made:
2 cups of grated carrot
1/4 cup of cashewnut
2 cups of whole milk
3 tbsp butter
1/2 tspn cardamon powder
In a pan, melt butter, toss in cashewnuts, fry till it changes color into golden brown, add grated carrots, fry till its sightly tender. Add milk and cook on medium heat, after the milk is nicely absorbed  add sugar. Cook for another 5-10 mins. Sprinkle cardamon powder. Serve hot or cold.
