Tambli

Tambli is an authentic curry made by any Goan Konkani. My mom prepares tambli atleast once or twice a week. She serves it with rice and fish fry. Coconut oil is mainly used to fry fish with other spices giving it an unique flavor. It takes very less time to prepare.
Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
1 whole red chilli,
1 garlic pod,
1 cup grated coconut
1 cup water,
1 cup yogurt,
salt to taste.

Method:
Grind red chilli, garlic, grated coconut, salt together. Add water and yogurt mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve with rice and fish fry.

Longwoods

It was a great weekend, we visited Longwood Gardens in PA with our friends. It was a bit cold but worth it like always. The greenhouse site had beautiful orchids and roses. The sweet scent of jasmine was lightly kissing our noses. You have to be there to know what I am talking about. My daughter was very excited specially as she had a cute little friend to play with. A kodak moment.

Exciting week

Like always I have been busy with my routine stuff. The only pleasure I get is when I am playing with my daughter and learn the new things she comes up with. Can’t wait for spring. I have already started cleaning and decorating my patio for it. Got a new bird feeder, it’s pretty small, not sure if the birds will get their beaks into it, well, time will tell. I planted few Day Lilies in these cute little pots few years back. Perennials what a wonderful species. I wish humans could do that.
On other note, I made a crochet hat and booties for my friends baby shower. Turned out really nice.
I started reading this book called “Ineffable Somalia”, my father in law wrote it. Really, he is an author with 4 books in his bag already. This is the 4th book released all over the world. This book is dedicated to the country and the people of Somalia.

Crochet Baby Sneakers

Im all excited as my friend is having her first baby in couple of months. I've been making some gifts for her baby shower. Some hats and booties. I found the pattern here. 

A day out

It was a beautiful day, some 70ish, perfect for a walk outside. My daughter wanted to go out,  meet her friend Mr. squirrel, play with sticks and rock, talk to our neighbour's dog. She had a big day. She didnt want to come back home with me.
